Men's Ministry - Freedom Fighters!

Men's Ministry is scheduled to continue Monday evening April 2, 2012. We'll be meeting at 6:30 pm at Fire Mountain Restaurant located at 3725 Alpine Ave, just north of 4 Mile Road. We're going through the new Resolution For Men by Stephen and Alex Kendrick. Men can no longer be passive as husbands, fathers, and leaders in their homes and churches. It's time to take a stand. Our focus on our April meeting will cover demonstrating love, and providing for our families. The message of our ministry that focuses on the hearts of men ties in well with the message of Courageous.
Our common purpose on this journey with Father God:
- Manhood - Knowing our true strength
- Identity - Knowing who we are in Christ!
- Healing The Wounds We Carry - There is freedom for those who truly want it!
- Accountability - There is strength in numbers! We can't do it on our own!
- Restoring Relationships
- Allowing God To Father Us
"The greatest changes in my life began to occur when I got involved with men. It was more than just showing up at the weekly breakfast or the monthly meeting. It was getting to know my brothers face to face. It was an opportunity to grow in areas that I had not experienced growth in before, and it challenged me to become a better husband and leader in my church. It was the beginning of something bigger and better in my life. As God has challenged me to be all that He envisions me to be my heart has grown stronger and my relationships with other men have blossomed. I have more brothers than ever before, and I know that God never intended that men should struggle through life on their own. "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17) As men we are meant to encourage and strengthen one another. As warriors we pick one another up on the battlefield and we refuse to surrender to the enemy. When all odds are against us and circumstances seem overwhelming there is a brother in Christ who is there to stand by you and help you when all seems lost. The Amplified Bible says, "The man of many friends [a friend of all the world] will prove himself a bad friend, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." (Proverbs 18:24) God never intended that we should fight our personal struggles and battles in the dark. It's when we call on a brother and friend in Christ that we are able to overcome the attack of the enemy and begin to live out the destiny that God has for our lives. The enemy has tried to steal the hearts of men, but God wants to restore and instill in us the heart of a true warrior, a man who worships God in his everyday life, and a man who is committed to win the battle at all costs. It's my personal desire to see all men reach the destiny that God has had planned since the beginning of time.
My true heart's desire is to see a network of men from all over Michigan forming bonds and relationships that are built on a solid foundation through Christ Jesus. It's not about building a church or a ministry. It's about building the kingdom of God, and seeing men from all walks of life coming together with a common purpose, to know Christ more intimately than before, to become more like him, and to understand him on a level we have never experienced before. Imagine for one moment seeing the world through the eyes of God, and never again looking back to see life through the eyes of man. I hope you will join us to pursue the God who created you to be more than a conqueror in Christ! Stand with other men that will fight beside you for the destiny and the freedom that God has planned for you! "
